Today the Ministry of Economic Development lead a scientific and practical workshop devoted to export of agricultural products of Azeri origin to the EU countries. Trend reports with reference to the Ministrys press release, at the meeting were participating MED officials and executives of companies capable of exporting production to Europe.
At the meeting deputy minister Niyazi Safarov, saying the countrys export potential rise is one of the main objectives of economic reforms, informed participants of the actions taken in this respect. He said governmental care of business enterprises is increasing year-by-year. In 2005 export of goods from Azerbaijan amounted $4.3bn, and non-oil production rose by 59.2% over year and amounted $1.04bn. Export in first half 206 amounted $2.9bn, up 2.2 times over year.
