Business Materials 5 August 2006 10:37 (UTC +04:00)

The turnover procedure of energy-distributing networks in Baku and Sumgait will start at the beginning of next week. At the moment, a commission is being formed from relevant ministries and departments to realize turnover, Mikayil Jabbarov, the deputy economic development minister of Azerbaijan and also the head of the commission for inspection of Barmek Holdings fulfilling contractual obligations, exclusively told Trend.

According to Jabbarov, the turnover will be held in accordance with the legislation of Azerbaijan. One of companys key breaches in contractual obligations is that Barmek Holding established a Barmek Azerbaijan and transferred all actives of Baku and Sumgait electric networks to its balance. It was not intended in the contract signed with the Economic Development Ministry of Azerbaijan.

The process of turnover will be held in a transparent and civilized manner. The process will be conducted with the participation of the representatives of Ernst & Young. We are reserving our rights and according to the protocol, the process will not influence the claims of both sides. Besides, the turnover process will not bring damage to the uninterrupted working regime of networks, Jabbarov said.

According to Jabbarov, the process will be conducted on base of the protocol signed between Economic Development Ministry and Barmek on the beginning of the process, and will take several weeks.
