The Economic Development Ministry of Azerbaijan (EDM) awaits proposals from KAMAZ OSC regarding creation of assemblage production of trucks in Azerbaijan.
It will be a separate production except Azerbaijani company Az Motors Co Ltd, the minister of economic development Heydar Babayev told Trend. By 2006, it was the official dealer of KAMAZ and organized the production and sale of KAMAZ automobiles in Azerbaijan, but in general 250 trucks have been realized since the cooperation.
We held negotiations with the head of KAMAZ and await them to create a condition, on base of which they are going to establish assemblage production. They want to organize this production with state participation and support. We have conducted discussions with them and reached an understanding, the minister told.
According to Babayev, there is a great interest, and therefore it is possible to consider privileges for the development of this production, but it shouldnt be the assemblage of one type of automobile.
Today, 70% of heavy trucks in Azerbaijan is reported at the expanse of KAMAZ automobiles.
