The Executive Power of Naftalan District of Azerbaijan has appealed the government and state air company of Azerbaijan, AZAL, with proposal to reconstruct an airport in this region, Sabir Ilyasov, the Deputy General Director of AZAL told Trend.
Earlier, three flights were implemented to this region when there existed resorts. Currently the opportunities for reconstruction of an airport in Yevlakh are being considered.
At present the airports in Baku and Nakhcivan have been fully reconstructed. Both airports hold an international status. Meanwhile, the reconstruction of airports in Ganja and Lankoran are underway, while the reconstruction of an airport in Zakatala is on schedule.
