WB Increases Azerbaijan's Rating on Favorable Business Environment

The World Bank has publicized a report on favorable business environment, developed jointly with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the WB investment group, Trend reports.

213 regular reforms were carried out in 112 world countries, which resulted in reducing the obstacles and cur in time loss and financial expenses linked with the regulating the legislation

on business activities.

According to reports Doing Business 2007: How to hold reforms, the top 10 of reformers in simplifying the conduct of business were Georgia, Romania, Mexico, China, Peru, France, Croatia, Guatemala, Hanna and Tanzania. The reforms concerned the simplification of entrepreneur activities, defense of ownership rights, simplification of tax burden, expansion of opportunities for approval of credit and cut in cost of import and export. Azerbaijan was rated as 100th in 2006 and 99th in 2007.

President of the WB group, Pael Woolfovich, said that the report will help the developing countries to determine the spheres in need of additional reforms.
