The National Bank of Azerbaijan announced that in August 2006 basic inflation rose 8.2% as compared to last year. In August index of consumer prices made up 0.4% against July and 5.4% - against December 2005, Trend reports.
The calculations were made firstly taking into account the fluctuation of administratively regulated prices (energy prices) and seasonal prices (fruits and vegetables).
The second calculation was made by removing the fluctuation of prices smoothing sharp tendency, basic inflation was 4.8%. The rise as at the beginning of the year was 3.4%, while it was 0.2% against July. While calculating this figure the NBA cleared by 16% the amount of goods and services which have administrative prices and seasonal prices (fruit and vegetable).
