A new customs place of the State Customs Committee Ipek Yolu' was opened on 6 October 2006, Trend reports. Addressing the opening ceremony, Safar Mehdiyev, the chairman of the Committee, noted that in the near future the Azerbaijani economy will grow at the expense of efforts of the relevant state bodies, particularly, the State Customs Committee.
The establishment of such facilities contributes in the protection of consumption market from poor-quality products, Ramiz Hasanov, the General Director of the state Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Patent said.
A new customs place and laboratory Ipek Yolu is supplied with advanced equipment and meets the world standards.
