ADB Launches Implementation of 2nd Round of Grant Program for NGOs

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) announced on the commencement of implementation of the second round grant program for non-governmental organizations

in struggle with AIDS. The Baku Office of the ADB informed Trend the program is implemented with the financial support of the Swiss Government, which allocated $14.3m for the ADB member-states.

Part of the funds ($8.6m) will be distributed under the regional technical assistance, while the rest will be allocated by the ADB as grant for implementation of the project of the non-Governmental organizations in the resolution of problem with AIDS.

The NGOs can receive no more than $50,000 for every project. Under the first round of the program, which ended on 30 September 2006, the selection of NGOS will last till 30 November. The resolutions are taken Manila-based Center of the ADB.
