(autoinsidernews) - European automotive technology company, Antonov, will be showing its 2-speed supercharger at next week's SEMA show. The supercharger will be showcased on a Hummer H3 and Ford Mustang GT, reports Trend.

In the Mustang GT, Autonov placed the compact supercharger/drive unit beneath the intake manifold, aided by a cold air induction system and an aluminium intake manifold with five liquid-to-air intercoolers. Antonov claims the supercharger increases quarter mile trap speeds up from 101mph to 112mph on the Mustang. The version used in the Hummer is mounted on the power steering bracket of the I5. The supercharger is driven at 1.36 to 1 from up to about 4200 rpm under hard acceleration, then drops down to a 1 to 1 ratio at higher RPM's.

We have yet to put the Hummer on our chassis dynamometer, but given our experience with the Mustang, we anticipate the 2-speed supercharger drive system will similarly give a massive boost to power and torque up to the mid range engine speed, says Brad Shantry, Wheel to Wheel performance product development manager.
