1st International Agricultural Exhibition Will be Held in Baku

The Azerbaijan International Agriculture Exhibition will take place in Baku. The exhibition will be held on May 23-25 in the Sport and Exhibition Complex named after Heydar Aliyev, Trend reports with reference to the organizer of the exhibition, British ITE Group PLC and its exclusive partner in Caucasus, Iteca Caspian LLC.

According to the information of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture, the average growth indicator of the agricultural products equal 9-10%. Over the past several years, growth was observed in the vegetable products 35%, fruits and soft fruit 13,1%, meat and meat products 23,6%, milk and dairy products 13,3%, egg 23,6% and wool 11,0%.

According to the order of the Azerbaijan President, Agrolizing Joint-Stock Company was founded and additional steps were taken in the expansion of the leasing activities in the agrarian sector. According to the order of the Azerbaijan President dated 11.02.2004 On Confirmation of the State Program for Social-Economical Development of Regions of Azerbaijan in 2004-2008, the growth rate of all spheres in the gross domestic product (GDP), including agriculture, was appointed at the level of 10-15% and the volume of the investments at the level of $16,8 bln. Nearly 60% out of that amount will be directed towards regions of Azerbaijan and this fully ensures the demands for most spheres of the agriculture.

The main divisions of the exhibition will be mini-plants, agricultural tractors, mounted-trailed machines, equipments and spare parts, watering and reclamation technique, cooling equipments for fishing and dairy products, biological equipments, etc.

The official support for the exhibition is provided by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture, Economic Development Ministry, Trade and Industry Chamber, Azerbaijan Export and Investment Foundation and Confederation of the Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan.

The 13th Azerbaijan International Food Industry Exhibition will take place on the same day. The divisions of this exhibition will include meat, poultry, fish, dairy products, drinks, tea, coffee, vegetable, fruit, etc. Last year, the exhibition was held on May 24-26 and brought together 3,500 professional visitors and specialists from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Russia, Iran, CIS countries and Europe. 60% of the visitors were directors and managers of the leading local and foreign companies.
