The Azerbaijan State Railway Company will carry 1 mln. tons of oil and oil products more, till the end of the current year, Musa Panahov, Deputy Azerbaijan Transport Minister said today, Trend reports.
Volumes of transportation of oil and oil refined products are expected to significantly increase in 2006 according to the forecast. On average this indicator is expected to be at the level of 1-1.2 mln. tons per month.
According to the data of the State Statistics Committee, in January-October, 2006, Azerbaijan transport sector carried 117,5 mln. tons of different kinds of loads which by 13.1% more versus the corresponding period of the last year. 57,8% out of the total volume of the loads carried, fall to the private sector. Over the nine months of 2006, 50,9% out of the total volume of the loads carried, were carried by auto transport, 17,9% - via pipelines (including 4,1% - BTC Pipeline), 21,2% - by railway, and 10% - by the marine transport.
In the reporting period, the Azerbaijan railways carried 25 mln. tons of different kinds of loads which is by 17,2% more versus the corresponding period of 2005.
