A leading economist of the World Bank (WB) for South Caucasus, Christian Peterson, and the WB leading economist on Azerbaijan, Christos Kostopolus, will visit Azerbaijan on 9 December to present to the Government of Azerbaijan with a new partnership strategy between Azerbaijan and the WB for the period 2007-2009.
The Baku office of the WB informed Trend that the WB Board of Directors is expected to approve the strategy on 7 December 2006. They will work closely with the WB teams, who will be visiting Baku to help develop the projects. In particular, support will be provided on the registration of property in Azerbaijan.
In addition, Mr. Peterson will become familiar with the general economic state in the country.
