Tagi Ahmadov, the Baku Metro Head, said in talks with journalists that a new subway station in the Memar Ajemi Darnagul, to be conditionally named Nasimi, will be put into exploitation in September-October 2008, Trendreports.

The Baku Metro came out with a proposal to name the station in the honor of outstanding Azerbaijani ophthalmologist, Zarifa Aliyeva. The Zarifa Aliyeva Ophthalmology Institute and alley is near this station, he said.

Mr. Ahmdaov noted that all buildings on the line of a new station are pulled down. The owners of the buildings will not receive compensation, as they occupied the areas illegally, he said.
