Monitoring of State Commission did not Reveal Signs of bird flu in Azerbaijan

The monitoring to discover the bird flu in Azerbaijan did not reveal any signs of this virus on the territory of the country. The carcasses of 38 wild birds and examples of bloods of 8 wild and 50 house birds were researched during the monitoring on December 17, Trend reports with reference to the State Veterinary Service of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Agriculture.

Another monitoring begins in the country, which is held by the special commission comprising of the specialists of the Veterinary Service, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, Ministry of Health and Society of Hunters. The monitoring is held in the places where the emigrant birds reside temporarily, in Pirallahi island, Apsheron peninsula, the districts of Davachi, Salyan, Agjebedi and Lankaran, national parks, and Caspian Sea Coast.

Monitoring is held twice a year due to the migration of the birds. To prevent the virus, all border veterinary checkpoints are working in intensive regime, and the prohibition still remains for hunt, sale and use of wild birds, as well as importing poultry products from countries where the signs of the virus have been discovered.
