In 2007-2008, State Concern AZAL of Azerbaijan plans to purchase 6 airplanes, on which contract has already been concluded. The Head of AZAL, Jahangir Askerov, informed Trend that the delivery is expected to begin in August 2007, and the planes of РђРўР -72 and РђРўР -42 will be delivered to the country for the regional flights within the country and to neighboring countries.
The contract amounts to $97,2 mln. The financing will be partly covered by the own finances of the State Concern, and the remaining part will be attracted from external sources.
Presently AZAL is holding negotiations with European Banks (Dutch ABN Amro, French Societe General). The bank has not been selected yet because we do not want to receive syndicated credit due to its unprofitableness. One bank will be selected to finance the purchase of the planes, Askerov said. 85% of the contract will be financed at the expense of the external sources, and 15% by AZAL.
