According to the operative data, the volume of the cargo transportation via the railways of Azerbaijan in 2006 equaled 29.6 mln tons, Trend reports with reference to Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD).
15.7 mln is reported at the expense of the oil and oil products. Last year, 5.8 mln passengers have been transported via the railways of Azerbaijan.
It is stated in the ASRD that in 2006, capital repair was held in 8,5 km roads and middle repair in 42 km roads. 3938 sleepers have been replaced. 56 km of roads was cleaned up and nearly 120 km was restored.
