According to proposals and support from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economic Development, Garadagh Cement JSC has completed the new sale system to ensure stable prices in Azerbaijan for cement.
Such a necessity emerged due to a lack of cement in Azerbaijan over the recent period which resulted in a demand for the construction material, Trend reports with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Economic Development. This shortage caused instability with the cement prices as well as artificial increases in prices by several commercial organizations.
As a first step, the new sale system will be realized in Baku, Sumgait and Apsheron and in the future in all territories of the republic. In Baku, Sumgait and Apsheron, the sale of the cement produced by Garadagh Cement will be carried out by 7 selected distributors and 112 retail points. Their addresses and contact telephones will be placed on the websites of the Enterprise and Ministry.
The cost of one bag of cement produced by Garadagh Cement has been defined by taking into consideration the recent changes of prices for energy carriers. The cost of 50 kg cement Optimal has been defined in amount of AZN 7.25, and cement Special AZN 7.95 (50 kg).
To protect the rights of the consumers, the State Anti-Monopoly Service of the Ministry will strengthen the control over the cement sale and price discipline. There will be consequences for any companies that do not follow the price rules.
