MP Gultakin Hajiyeva, an Azerbaijani parliamentary representative to PACE has told Trend that while the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict has not been settled and the territory of Azerbaijan, occupied by Armenian forces has not been liberated, the adoption of the bill - On Alternative Military Service seems to be impossible. By joining the Council of Europe (CE), our country has taken a responsibility for the adoption of the above-mentioned bill.
According to Mrs. Hajiyeva, the Milli Majlis (Parliament) has postponed the adoption of the bill until Armenia liberates the occupied territory. CE which is well aware of the situation in Azerbaijan and still tolerates the Armenian occupation has the same approach toward the situation in our country, concluded Mrs Hajiyeva.
