U.S. Customs Officials Visit Baku

From 15-18 January, a delegation of U.S. Customs and Border Defense Service made a visit to Baku. On the first day of the visit, the delegation met with the Head of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan (SCC) and discussed the prospects of the co-operation, Trend reports with reference to the statement of the Committee.

During the meeting, the SCC Head, Aydin Aliyev, said that he highly regards the co-operation of developed countries, especially the USA, in an economical realm and that the visit will serve to closer co-operation and expansion of the bilateral relations between the two countries.

We stand ready to provide technical assistance in the field of customs and border control, Deputy Assistance for International Affairs of the U.S. Customs and Border Defense Service, Odri Admas, stated.

Aliyev underlined that Azerbaijan has a wide enough experience of customs co-operation with the USA in the normative base of customs tariffs and the creation of a canine training center.

During the visit, the U.S. representatives visited customs points Shirvanovka, Samur, Bara and Ipak Yolu.
