First Caspian Oil Trade & Transport Conference to Take Place in Baku

Between April 23rd and 24th 2007, the first Caspian Oil Trade & Transport Conference will take place in Baku. The conference will be dedicated to the questions of delivery and transportation of energy carriers, expansion of the support of companies from Europe, USA and CIS to companies of Caspian countries. The conference will be held by British Confidence Energy Ltd in association with Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Trend reports.

The topics of the conference will be circumstances and prospects of the oil and gas markets of the Caspian region, development of the transport infrastructure in the Caspian, strategy and development prospects of pipelines in the Caspian region, increase of efficiency of the exportation and trade of oil and oil products.

The first session of the conference will be dedicated to the macroeconomic and commercial flow of main markets for the Caspian oil and oil products, specificity and volumes of the consumption in the internal markets of the Caspian countries (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Iran and Turkmenistan) and neighboring countries, Georgia, Turkey, Iraq, Ukraine and countries of the Mediterranean basin.

The second session will be dedicated to pipeline transport of the Caspian region and situation and prospects of the development, realization of the projects on transportation of the Caspian oil, experience of BP in construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, peculiarities of oil exportation via BTC and peculiarities of exploiting routes of Baku-Supsa and Baku- Novorossisk, etc.

The third session will be dedicated to marine transport in the Caspian region, Aktau port, service market for transporting oil and oil products in Caspian, prospects of creating and exploiting large-capacity fleet in Caspian, peculiarities of trans-shipment oil cargos via terminals of Azerbaijan and development of complexes for trans-shipment of oil and oil products in Azerbaijan, etc.

The fourth session will be dedicated to the oil trade in the Caspian region, comparative analyses of exportation of the Azerbaijani oil to Black Sea ports and Ceyhan, Ceyhan as new direction of oil deliveries from Caspian region and analyses of efficiency delivering Caspian oil to Iran, etc.

The fifth session will be dedicated to the increase of the efficiency of exportation and trade of oil products, Georgia as one of the main importers of the oil products, questions of price formation and insurance of delivery of oil and oil products from Caspian region, directions, prospects and needs of the Azerbaijani market for oil products, transformation of the energy capacity of the republic from mazut to gas, increase of the quality of the automobile fuel and its delivery to the European market, etc.
