Azerbaijan is participating at the meeting of the Coordination Council for Plants, which is being held in Tashkent. Trend has been informed in the Scientific and Agricultural Centre of the Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry, that Zeynal Akbarov, the Director of the Genetic Resources Institute and Afag Mammadov, the Head of the Information Base of the Institute are representing Azerbaijan in this event.
The countries of Central Asian and Transcaucasia are the members of the Committee. The subjects of the discussion during the arrangement are discussing possibilities and perspectives on introduction of efficient technologies, innovations in seed-farming, and improving the fertility of soil.
Discussing the regional strategy on keeping genetic resources from a point of view of their importance for foodstuffs and agriculture as a whole, a Draft of the Regional Strategy on Using Genetic Resources of Plants will be in the topic of the agenda of the event. The meeting will complete its work on January 20.
