The Director of the State Agency for Standardization, Patent and Metrology of Azerbaijan, Ramiz Hasanov, informed Trend that the Agency created Azerbaijan Institute for Standardization. Creating the Institute envisages to gradually release it from the commercial functions. It is intended in the future to transform the Institute into a center, which will allow to gradually removing the State from the certification processes. The Institute will engage in these questions, but the State Agency will have the co-ordination function. Within the improvement of the Agency structures, 9 regional departments have been opened, which cover the whole Republic.
