Selection of Azerbaijan Managers in EU MTP IV Program Starts

The National Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan has been chosen as the local partner to the project- MTP IV within TACIS Programme of EU. Trend reports referring to a message spread by the National Confederation, that the project envisages preparing and training managers and specialists. It covers Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzia, Moldova, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan. The major objective of the MTP Programme is to render assistance to the development of the economy of CIS member-states through holding trainings for managers. The participation of managers from Azerbaijan companies in the preceding projects will expand the sphere of activity of the companies they lead, as well as play an important role in the establishing business relations with the European companies, said the message. In accordance with the subcontract signed between The Azerbaijan National Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Carl Duisberg Centren GmbH (CDC), German leading company in MTP IV, on March 29, 2006, a new stage started in the programme. The selection of managers from Azerbaijan companies is expected to be held on January 25-26, 2007 and will be organized by the Russian and English offices of the program. 24 managers out of the total 70 applicants could succeed the second stage. They will be invited for taking part in the further competition.

On the whole, within MTP IV, through 2006-2008, 35 Azerbaijan managers are expected to pass training in Europe. 7 Azerbaijan managers have already passed such trainings in the European companies.
