The French Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bernar Dyu Shafo, briefed the media that France is interested in developing the co-operation with Azerbaijan. According to the Ambassador, leading French companies, specialized in the sphere of environmental protection, aeronautics, railway links, infrastructure, construction, civil defense, food industry and banking sector, intend to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The Ambassador said that these opportunities will be on the focus of attention during the meetings with the representatives of the French companies within the forthcoming 29-31 January visit of the Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev, to France.
He said that as a result of 9 month of 2006, the amount of the trade turnover between the two countries equaled в'¬600 mln, and as a result of the year, this figure is forecasted to increase up to в'¬800 mln.
