The State Statistics Committee has submitted all materials to hold an expert appraisal on Azerbaijan joining the IMF Data Distribution Special Standards to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Arif Valiyev, the Chairman of the State Statistics Committee, informed Trend that the Coordinators have been appointed from the Azerbaijan Finance Ministry and the National Bank of the Country (NBA). However the State Statistics Committee is the major coordinating body in the country. Aghadadash Mammadov, the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, has been appointed as the Chief Coordinator. The terms on Azerbaijan to join the IMF standards have not been determined yet, but, the forthcoming appraisal seems to be conducted during the February visit of the IMF mission to the country, said Mr. Valiyev.
To join the IMF special standards, Azerbaijan should fulfill all requirements, and maximally all methodical data. Its indicators must meet with the Fund requirements. Two-three years ago, Azerbaijan joined the IMF Data Distribution General Standards.
