Spy Shots: Next-generation Mercedes E-Class

(autoinsidernews) - Spy photographers in the Arctic Circle have caught the first prototype of the next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class. While heavily disguised with Mercedes-Benz's traditional hard camouflage, the next E-Class will continue the design themes seen in the S-Class and the recently unveiled C-Class.

The next-generation E-Class, which is internally known as W212, feature V6 and V8 powerplants, in both gas and diesel, with the AMG getting the new 6.3L V8.

Expect the E-Class to be available with a host of techinal goodies, including lane departure warning system, an eye-movement monitor, traffic sign identifier, road condition sensors, option carbon ceramic brakes, and a stability control system that accounts for crosswinds, camber changes and tire wear, reports Trend.

The next-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is due to debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
