The Permanent Commission of the Azerbaijan Parliament on Regional Issues has, in co-operation with the relevant state bodies, prepared a law draft On names of geographical objects. The new law draft will be presented to the discussions of the spring session.
The law On names of geographical objects will define the legal bases to restore the old names, change and normalize the names of the geographical objects that are integral part of history and cultural heritage of Azeri people. According to the law, the names of the geographical objects that are integral part of history and cultural heritage of Azeri people are protected by the State.
