Action Plan for Developing Azerbaijan Customs System for 2007-2011 Determined

The State Program for Developing the Customs System of the Country for 2007-2010 was approved by the order of the Azerbaijan President in order to accelerate the development of the customs system, improving the normative and legal base, Trend reports.

According to the Action Plan, proposals to join the international conventions in the sphere of customs and trade are envisaged within the implementation of the programme for 2007-2010. Moreover, the implementation envisages preparing proposals and recommendations to improve the tariff regulation, transition to tax duties through plastic cards, introduction of electronic customs declaration, organization of up-to-date terminals on logistics, introduction of the automotive registration and control system.

Work on reconstructing the frontier points of Sadikhli, Sinigkorpu, Boyuk Kasik, Samur, constructing the frontier point of Yalama, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Customs Department and terminal, other analogous facilities in the regions are envisaged within the program as well.
