Today, a regional conference dedicated to the fight with bird flue has been held in the administrative building of the Executive Power of Salyan District of Azerbaijan. Trend reports referring to the Press-Service of the Azerbaijan Health Ministry, that Ogtay Shiraliyev, the Health Minister, Abbas Valibayov, his Deputy and the Chief Sanitary Physician, Firdousi Aliyev, Deputy the Ecology and Natural Resources Minister, Aslan Aslanov, the Deputy Agriculture Minister, Heads of the Executive Powers of Salyan, Neftchala, and Yardimli took part in the arrangement.
Mr. Shiraliyev said that the World Health Organization had appreciated the work carried out within the struggle against bird flue. The Minister marked the importance on taking preventive measures in this issue. According to him, instruction work, which have been taken among the population on this issue are acknowledged as unsatisfactory, and the local authorities could not control sale of wild bird meat along the highway- Salyan-Astara.
Ismayil Hassanov, the Head of the Veterinary Service of Azerbaijan Agriculture Ministry said that comparing with the previous year, the migration of migrant birds reduced in three times. He considers that the threat of the penetration of the virus to the country will fall only at the end of March. Mr. Valibeyov said that only on January 27, in Salyan District, sale of wild birds and their meat was observed in 37 sale points. Meals prepared out of wild birds were available in 12 restaurants out of 14.
