More than 33,000 small-size state-controlled enterprises and facilities have been privatized in Azerbaijan since the time when the privatization was launched in 1996. 3,200 out of them fell at 2006, Trend reports.
Karam Hassanov, the Chairman of the State Property Committee, said during the today press-conference that 1,600 joint-stock companies, including 12 joint-stock enterprises in 2006 were founded on the basis of the middle-sized and large-scale state-run enterprises. 400 lands were privatized. Some measures have been taken to fulfill the Presidential order вЂ" On Privatization of Some Enterprises in the Field of Health Care, Education, Sports, and Culture signed on August 23, 2006. According to the Head of the Committee, 20 enterprises have been privatized from about 400 enterprises put to privatization. The decision on the privatization of the state share holding in two joint-stock companies was taken in 2006. The State Committee presented 3,200 certificates on sale of the state property and handing over the rights on the property in 2006.
As of 1996, 200 mln. AZN have been sent to the State Budget from the privatization budget, with 33,5 mln. AZN falling at 2006.
