The instantly legendary Ferrari was named after the automaker's founder, and topped a list of the 100 most iconic contemporary cars you can buy вЂ" assuming you have the money. The Zurich Iconic Car Index, created by Motoring Research вЂ" founded by former Top Gear presenter, Peter Burgess, uses a sophisticated formula weighting factors including price, performance, engine power and marque. The cars had to cost over ВЈ50,000 just to be considered.

The Enzo was initially announced at the 2002 Paris Motor Show with a planned production run of 349 units. Ferrari sold all 349 cars way before production began, and, after numerous requests, Ferrari decided to build 50 more Enzos. Ferrari eventually built a 400th Enzo, which was auctioned for $1.1 million, with the proceeds donated to the Pope for humanitarian relief, reports Trend.

Second on the list was the Porsche Carrera GT, with another Ferrari вЂ" the 599 GTB вЂ" holding down third spot. Ferrari was the only automaker with more than one car in the top ten.
