For the first time, a Center of Etalon will be created in Azerbaijan, Trend reports with reference to the State Agency of Standardization, Metrology and Patient of Azerbaijan.
The favorable investment climate in Azerbaijan causes the increase in numbers of foreign companies. These companies appeal to the foreign countries to define the conformity of technical requirements of the measurement means due to the absence of the State measurement units (etalons) in Azerbaijan and neighboring countries. It leads to large investment flow-out from Azerbaijan.
Contracts have been signed with European countries and USA on the purchase of 9 etalons at a cost of AZN 400,000. They will be delivered to Azerbaijan by the end of the first quarter of 2007.
International experience shows that applying etalons and creating such a center in Azerbaijan is a very significant event for the Country, the same source stated.
