Azerbaijan Partially Lifts Ban on Import of Poultry and Chicken Foods from Russia and Turkey

Azerbaijan , Baku /Trend, corr. S. Babayeva/ The ban Azerbaijan imposed on the importation of poultry and other food of animal origin from Krasnodar Krai (Territory) of Russia and the Turkish Province of Batman due to bird flue has been partially lifted. According to the message being spread by the State Veterinary Service, starting from today, February 22, except the importation of live birds, meat, chicken foods and seed, the ban on other foods of animal origin was lifted.

The State Service says that in order t o prevent the penetration of the bird flue virus to the country, all the frontier veterinary points are operating in the medium security, the prohibition on hunting, sale, and eating wild birds in the country still remains in force, as well as the import of poultry and poultry food into the country from those countries where cases of the poisoning with the virus were detected.
