Azerbaijan , Baku / corr . Trend S.Aliyev / The cost of the contract for the acquisition of 1,000 buses by Daewoo International Corporation amounts to $60 mln. The contract was signed in Baku last week between the Transgeyt Company ( Azerbaijan ) and Daewoo International Corp. ( South Korea ).
A statement by Daewoo says that the first delivery comprising of 200 buses will be sent within the first 6 months of 2007. This contract is part of the economic co-operation initiated by the President of South Caucasus, Ro Muh Yun, during his visit to Azerbaijan in May 2006. The delegation of the Transport Ministry of South Korea arrived in Baku three months ago to discuss this issue. "The contract may increase the image of the Korean buses in CIS countries," said the Executive Director of Daewoo International Corp. Kang Yan Von.
