Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / On 6 March the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, issued a decree creating special economic zones (SEZ) in the Country.
Such decision was made to create favorable conditions for the development of the separate regions of the Country, support and direct investments towards priority spheres, open new workplaces, use contemporary management experience, present competitive commodities and services.
The order says that the State policy regarding creation and activities of the SEZ will be headed by the Ministry of Economic Development.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan was charged to, within a month, prepare and submit to the President the law draft "On SEZ".
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers was trusted to, together with the Ministry of Economic Development, prepare and submit to the President the priority directions and proposals on creation of SEZ, project of Regulation on SEZ, proposals on privileged tax and customs regime, currency management in SEZ, project of simplified rules of the customs control, as well as legalization of the commodities and regime of entry of the transport means and companies to SEZ.
