Azerbaijani-Russian-Turkish Business Forum to be Held in Moscow

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr I. Khalilova / Vasili Istratov, the Ambassador of Russia to Azerbaijan, informed that a preparatory meeting of the organizers of the trilateral business forum will be held in March. The forum will bring together the representatives of Azerbaijan, Russia and Turkey.

The forum is planned to be held by the end of the first half of 2007 in Moscow. The forum is organized by the Azerbaijani-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The business forum aims to provide opportunities to companies to get familiarized with each other to establish relations in the future. The possibility of holding business forum on the same day with the meeting of Azerbaijani-Russian Inter-Governmental Committee in April is not excluded.

In 2006 the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia amounted to $1.5 bln, an increase of 50%. Of them, $1 bln fall on the share of import from Russia. The markets of Russia are the greatest and the most perspective for Azerbaijan. So, in order to cover the $0.5 bln deficite caused by cutting gas supply from Russia, the parties are planning to increase the export of the Azerbaijani goods and services.
