Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Representative of the State Secretariat of Switzerland for Economic Affairs (Seco) in Azerbaijan, Tomas Maier, said that the Government of Switzerland plans to reconsider the strategy of technical assistance to the countries of South Caucasus.
According to him, the new strategy covers 2008-2011. Within the active strategy, the 2007 budget for Azerbaijan has been defined in amount of $5 mln. The assistance will be provided in two lines of Seco and Switzerland Agency for Development and Co-operation.
The activities of Seco have been directed towards the development of the infrastructure, strengthening of the financial sector, development of the private sector and assistance to Azerbaijan's entrance to the World Trade Organization.
