Great Demand for Cars Noted in   Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend S.Babayeva / On 14 March The Deputy Transport Minister of Azerbaijan, Musa Panahov, said at the opening of the 4th Azerbaijan International Automobile Exhibition AutoShow Azerbaijan 2007 that, due to the improvement in the economy of the population, there is a greater interest to purchase cars in Azerbaijan.

According to him, the increased interest by the population is confirmed by the number of participants at the exhibition, which involved 120 companies from 25 countries. The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Aslan Aslanov, the Vice President of the Trade

The number of Azerbaijani companies participating in the exhibition totals 47. This year the exhibition has increased by 40% compared to 2005. More than 60% of the participants are new companies.

This year the exhibition features the sector of spare parts, accessories and service equipments, for which a special exhibition, AutoParts Azerbaijan 2007, has been organized.

AutoShow Azerbaijan 2007 is the largest international automobile exhibition in the Caucasus. Annually the exhibition brings together more than 20,000 car specialists and owners. The main divisions are:

In 2006 the exhibition brought together 43 international companies, with 26 Azerbaijani companies and 15 manufacturing companies.
