UNICEF Defined Funds for Financing Projects in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I. Khalilova / The Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan informed that the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) plans to allocate $9.725 mln to Azerbaijan for implementation of the projects. The funds are provided through 2005-2009 Programme.

The activities will be carried out in two directions. The first direction includes services for politics, projection, propaganda and agitation. The second one includes social integration services.

The projects on children's protection, education, and health protection will be implemented within the framework of the directions.

UNICEF has been functioning in Azerbaijan since 1993. The projects of "Children in need of Special Care", "Intensive Education", "Development of Infants", "Health and Development of Young People", Primary Reforms in Health Protection", "Integrative Management of Children Diseases", "Concern for Healthy Mothers and Children", "Health and Demography Survey" have been implemented with the assistance of the Organization.
