Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Ilhamgizi/ Hussein Avni Karslioglu, Turkey's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, has told Trend that building activities on the Turkish section of railway Baku-Tbilisi-Akhalkalaki-Kars are expected to be launched at the end of June- beginning July, 2007.
The Turkish Ambassador noted that the Autorities were currently carrying out corresponding explanatory works with the population of those areas (from Kars till the Turkish-Armenian border), which would be involved in the implementation of the railway project. "Since the areas, where the railway to be laid are private-owned lands, and the State should buy these areas from the local population. Turkey has founded a corresponding fund for these aims, and final preparatory works for necessary documents are currently under completion," explained the Turkish diplomat.
The Turkish diplomat also noted that the ceremony on laying fisrt stoneon the Turksih section in summer, 2007. According to Mr. Karslioglu, on the totally, the Turkish party has put investments to the implementation of the abobove-mentioned at the amount of $280 mln. The building and construction activities to be implemented this year envisage spending $60 mln.
