Date of Belarusian Prime Minister’s Visit to Azerbaijan Postponed

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The date of the visit of the Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergey Sidorski, to Azerbaijan has been postponed to 28 March, the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan stated.

The 4th meeting of the Azerbaijani-Belarusian Inter-Governmental Commission will therefore take place on 28 March, not 27 March as previously planned. The Azerbaijani and Belarusian experts have already agreed the agenda and protocol of the meeting. The agenda includes a program on long-term social-economical co-operation until 2015, which was signed on 17 October in Minsk.

The Commission will consider the possibilities of future bilateral co-operation development and developing mutual interests towards joint activities in the markets of the two countries. As a result of last year, the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Belarus totaled $22 mln, an increase of 115%.

In addition, the Commission will organize debates to establish close co-operation between the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Industry Azerbaijan and Belarusian enterprises with regards to agriculture, delivery of products to the Belarusian markets, etc.
