ATIB Announces 2007 Plans

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / In 2007 the Society of Azerbaijani-Turkish Business People (ATIB) plans to make visits to Russia, the USA and Belgium, the Society informs. Business-forums attended by the Azerbaijani and Turkish business people, as well as business people of these countries, scientific-practical conferences at leading universities and joint meeting of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas in these countries are expected to be held during the visits. In addition, meetings are expected to be held with the high-ranking officials, representatives of NGOs.

The first visit was already made to Moscow on 22-25 March. The delegation included Chairman of ATIB, Ahmad Erentok, Chairman of the Executive Board of Azerbaijani-Russian Business Co-operation Chamber, Intigam Huseynov, member of the Executive Board, Farhad Mehdiyev, Secretary General of ATIB, Nurdan Kanber, and his Deputy Rashad Rasullu. During the meeting with the Contemporary Humanitarian Academy of Russia, Mikhail Karpenko, a decision was made to hold a scientific-practical conference on the topic 'Place of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Russia in Eurasian geo-policy'.

Work was commenced to create Azerbaijani-Turkish-Russian Innovation Center in Azerbaijan within the co-operation with the Academy. The meeting with the Executive Director of the Russian-Azerbaijani Congress, Eldar Guliyev, decided to hold a joint meeting of the Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas on 6 June in Moscow. The meeting will focus on the results of the 1st forum of the Heads of world Azerbaijani and Turkish diasporas, as well as possibilities to attract investments into the non-oil sector of Azerbaijan. The Embassies of Azerbaijan and Turkey in Russia expressed readiness to render assistance to ATIB.
