Members of OED Outlines Ways of Development of Multilateral Economic Ties

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend / The second meeting of the Ministers of Economy and Finances of the Organization for Economic Development (OED), under the participation of representatives of ten member-states of this organization, where Samir Sharifov, Azerbaijan's Finance Minister, participated as well, Trend reports quoting a message being spread by the Finance Ministry of the Country.

The mentioned event was held under the chairmanship of Turkey's Finance Minister, Kamal Unakitan. His Azerbaijani counterpart, Mr. Sharifov, giving a speech during the arrangement, informed the participants about achievements the country gained resulting from the country's successful carrying out economic policy and implementing internationally-significant projects. He also marked the importance of the regional financial and economic cooperation.

As results of the arrangement held, the participants made the Antalya Communique, which reflects ways of development of multilateral economic ties.

Notably, the Organization for Economic Development was founded among Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan in 1967. In 1992, seven other countries, including Azerbaijan joined this International Organization.
