Azerbaijan to Sign 2 Documents with Russian Region

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr S. Aghayeva/ A delegation representing the Kurgan Oblast (Region) of Russian Federation, which is headed by its Governor, Oleg Bogomolov is expected to arrive in Baku tomorrow, on 12 April. Alexander Semenov, the Councillor for Economic Issues of the Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan, said today that the key objective of the forthcoming visit of the Russian delegation is to discuss issues connected with the development of trade and economic relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian territory.

Mr. Bogomolov and the delegation accompanying him are expected to hold negotiations in the Azerbaijan Cabinet of Ministers. Yagub Eyyubov, the First Vice-Premier of the Azerbaijani Government will represent the Azerbaijani party at the forthcoming negotiations with the Russian delegation.

According to the Councillor for Economic Issues of the Russian Embassy, two documents are expected to be signed as a result of the negotiations to be held between the two parties - The Agreement on Cooperation between Azerbaijan Republic and the Administration of Government of Kurgan Oblast of Russian Federation in Trade and Economic, Scientific and Cultural Directions, and the Protocol of the Negotiations, which are to be held.

"That day, the Governor of Kurgan Oblast of Russia is expected to be received by Azerbaijan's Prime-Minister, Arthur Rasizadeh and then by the President of the Country, Ilham Aliyev," said the Russian diplomat.

According to Mr. Semenov, representatives of the Russian region are expected to hold a presentation in the Baku Business Centre on April 13. A documentary film will be screened and then enterprises will be presented during the forthcoming event. During the forthcoming Business Forum, over 10 Russian enterprises will present their production, including "Russian Buses" Firm and "KurganStalMost" Company.

"Within the forthcoming presentation, Azerbaijani and Kurgan businessmen are expected to hold several meetings," said the Councillor for Economic Issues of the Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan.

The visit of the Russian delegation is expected to be concluded on April 14, 2007.
