AZPROMO to Re-Schedule Arrangements for 2008

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I. Khalilova / Emil Mejidov, the president of AZPROMO (Supervisory Board of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Foundation), reported on 13 April that the second Congress of the AZPROMO in 2007 will be held in June. The purpose of the Congress is to re-schedule the arrangements to be held this year. "The last four months revealed that the changes in the schedule are necessary due to the occurrence of new directions," Mr. Mejidov said. Among the directions is market research, which has increased. Ten market research studies will be carried out by the end of 2007.

The list of the international exhibitions to be attended by Azerbaijan has been developed. "We have to participate in ten to twelve exhibitions by the end of the year. Actually, I believe we will manage to do more in 2007 as compared to last year," the head of AZPROMO noted.

The admission of new members into the Trusteeship Council of AZPROMO will also be discussed at the Congress. According to Mr. Mejidov, the Foundation received over ten applications for membership after the last Congress (22 January). By the decision of the Council eighteen new members were admitted in February. The Ministry of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan I Investment Company, the Entrepreneurs Association of Ganja, Jahan Holding ltd, ISR Holding, Caspian Petrol, Bosshelf, LFem ltd, GTF, SAF, Standard Insurance, Agro Azerinvest, Azital company, Rabitabank, Turanbank, Ziya+, and Janja-Sharab-2 are among them. The Council had united seventy-four members, with over fifty of them being holdings or companies. For the time being the Council consists of ninety-two members.
