Canadian Insurance Actuary to Arrive in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corrU. Ismayilova/ Khayal Guliyev, an employee of ACDI/VOCA of the USA, which specializes in insurance, said that Jean Noel Martineau, a Canadian insurance actuary is expected to arrive in the Azerbaijani Capital for a fortnight to get acquainted with Azerbaijan's insurance market.

ACDI/VOCA is an American privately owned non-commercial organization, promoting large-scale economic growth and reinforcement of civic society in developing countries.

According to Mr Guliyev, the Canadian actuary is expected to spend the first three days of his visit working at the Finance Ministry together with Namig Khalilov, the Chief of the State Insurance Control of the Country.

"They will work jointly on getting acquainted with insurance companies operating in the country and troubles the local insurance market faces," he said.

During the next two weeks, the actuary will be engaged in drawing a plan for organizing and holding corresponding seminars in Azerbaijan.

Namig Khalilov, the Chief of the State Insurance Control of the Azerbaijani Finance Ministry, said that the key aim of inviting the actuary to Azerbaijan was to establish a school of actuaries and specialists in the relevant field in the country.

According to Mr Khalilov, ACDI/VOCA will render financial support to the mentioned project.
