Premiums of Azerbaijani Insurance Companies Exceed Payments in First Quarter of 2007

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The Ministry of Finance of Azerbaijan has publicized the results of the premiums and payments of the insurance companies in the first quarter of 2007.
Acording to the Ministry, the insurance premiums of 28 companies have comprised AZN 36.8mln, what exceeds the figure of the same period of 2006 by 29.4%.
The life insurance premiums have increased by 57.14% and made up AZN 0.11mln (AZN 0.07mln in the first quarter of 2006).
The premiums on obligatory forms of insurance have accounted for AZN 3.97mln (AZN 1.32mln in the first quarter of 2006.
The insurance payments of the companies have comprised AZN 6.81mln, what is 43.39% less as compared to the same period of 2006.
The life insurance payments of the companies have reached AZN 0.03mln (AZN 0.02mln in the first quarter of 2006).
Payments on obligatory forms of insurance have increased 21.57% as compared to the same period of 2006 (AZN 0.51mln) and constituted AZN 0.62mln.
In 2006, the insurance companies have received AZN 88.33mln of premiums and paid out AZN 43.62mln.
