Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr I. Khalilova / The Sate Committee on Statistics of Azerbaijan reported that the rate of rise in consumer prices and tariffs for services in April was 100.4% on March. The inflation was caused by a 0.5% rise in prices for consumer goods, a 0.4% rise in prices for non-consumer goods and 0.1% rise in tariffs for services.
During April prices rose for rice, flour, grain-crops, macaroni, meat, canned goods, mineral water, alcoholic drinks, citrus fruits, apples, pears, Greek nuts, potatoes, onions and carrots. Prices dropped for fish products, fresh milk, sugar, bananas, nuts, cucumbers, tomatoes, greens and eggs.
The price for overcoats, heaters and radio-telephones increased and for cotton fabric, stockings, footwear, construction materials, furniture, medicines, several types of electric facilities, cosmetics, toys, writing materials and gold ware decreased in April.
The price of services rose, while the price of medical and food services dropped.
