Azerbaijani Finance Minister’s Visit to Kyoto Completed

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , I. Khalilova / The Finance Ministry of Azerbaijan reported that the Executive Managers of the Asian Bank of Development (ABD) would hold the Regular (41 on account) Conference in Madrid in 2008. This decision was made at the conference held in on 6 May Kyoto.

Azerbaijani delegation at the conference was headed by Samir Sharifov, the Minister of Finance of Azerbaijan.

ABD approved the annual accounts of the bank, distribution of the gross revenues, finance accounts and budget of the bank for 2007.

The high-ranking officials of ABD member-countries, as well as the representatives of many International Finance Institutions attended at the conference.

Mr. Sharifov met Koji Omi, the Finance Minister of Japan, Haruiko Kurod, President of Asian Bank, Huan Mirando, Director General and attended the conference of Election Group for Azerbaijan, Australia, Cambodia and other countries within the ABD conference.

Notably, ABD was founded in 1966. The main relief of ABD is political dialogue, bond, investigation, security, grant and technical aid.

The annual amount of crediting of the Bank is estimated at up to $6 bln, with its technical aid - $180 mln.

The Headquarters of the Bank is situated in the Capital of Philippines of Manila.

Azerbaijan was affiliated to the ABD on 22 December, 1999.

Japan and the United States (31,2% out of the total stake), India and China (12,8%), Australia, South Korea and Canada (16%) are the basic share-holders of the ABD.
