Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizade / The meeting of Azerbaijan Parliament's Permanent Commission on Social Policy on 21 May has focused on the amendments and annexes to the law on the 2007 Budget of Azerbaijan State Social Protection Fund.
The Chairman of the Commission, Hady Rajably, stressed that as a result of the increase in the pensions and allowances, AZN 30.5 mln is required to be transferred from the State Budget to the Social Protection Fund. The Chairman of the State Social Protection Fund, Salim Muslimov, said that after the decision of the Tariff Council to increase prices for communal services, the President of Azerbaijan signed a decree to increase the pensions and allowances from AZN 35 to AZN 45. "As a result, an additional AZN 103 mln was required for the Social Protection Fund budget. Part of the finances was received from the collection of the social insurance, but the transfers from the State budget are in demand," he said. After the amendments to the State budget, the amount of the transfers to the Social Protection Fund will be increased.
The Commission discussed amendments and annexes to the appropriate items of the law. The document is to be presented for discussion at the Azerbaijani Parliament by taking into consideration the views and suggestions of the specialists.
